Characters and Advantages of XGK Rolling Mill Technology

XGK rolling mill is an international patent mill with small deflection, high stiffness and wide strip. It is able to produce hot rolled extra thin, extra thick and extra wide strips, cold rolled extra wide and extreme thin strips as well as high-strength rigid strips such as copper alloy, aluminum, stainless steel, high alloy steel etc. In the terms of production mode, XGK rolling mill suits single, double machine production as well as continuous rolling production. It produces outstanding banding strips in the light of both shape and precision. Therefore, XGK rolling mill is also called “universal rolling mill”.

Novelty check for new scientific and technological achievements conducted in 2006 by China Metallurgical Information Research Institute, a first-grade national novelty checking institution, concluded that according to related documents on the tolerance limits of cold-rolled strip thickness, the strip thickness of the products of XGK-LD1100 is one order of magnitude higher compared to the same products produced abroad.

Three Technical Characters

1.“Quasi-rigidity”
Thanks to its structural characteristics and stress principle, the lateral rigidity of mill will not be affected by the material, shape and quantity of the flexible pieces of rolling stress line. It will cause no flexural deflection during rolling, which realizes infinitely great lateral tightness. It called “quasi-rigidity” in patents book. i.e. XGK-LD1400 rolled 0.08 × 1300mm, 0.03×1300m, 0.3×1300mm strips，its lateral deviation all could reach ±0.001mm.

2.“Extensibility”
Thanks to its unique “cantilever beam” function and “floating roller” rolling, this kind of rolling mill can mechanically extend the width of the products to the width of the roller according to the specification and purpose. Theoretically, it ended the history of width limitation of traditional mills because of tiny hole effect.

3.“Difference elimination”
Thanks to its axial “floating incline”, XGK mill can roll the cuniform and curve section shape into high precision strips without the problem of the traditional mills. The products it produces are free from burrs, cracks at the edge, no edge trimming according to order of the customers, which improves the products yield. At the same time, it is also good in longitudinal difference.

“longitudinal difference elimination”：XGK mill has its own theory system. It doesn’t obey traditional “minimum rolling thickness” principle. No matter wide or thick, if there is enough rolling forcing, the strip could be rolled infinitely thin. Because this mill neither has roller deflection nor tiny hole effect, “Minimum rolling thickness” doesn’t exist.

1. Advantage of extended matching
The unique structural characteristics of this rolling mill enables users select the width of XGK rolling mill in accordance with their own demands for specifications of strips and to select the matching level of rolling mill in compliance with its capital capability and output. Because the matching level of rolling mill mainly reflects automaticity and output and does not affect the product specification and quality. Meanwhile, owing to good profile shape and high precision of rolled pieces, some expensive auxiliary equipment can be left out.

Owing to advanced theory and simple structure of this rolling mill, the processes of all components are easy, with short processing cycle and low cost. The wider the rolling mill is, more advantages there are and lower the cost is. The price is only about 30% of imported rolling mills, and the price of wide-strip rolling mill is even lower.

3. Advantage of strong applicability
XGK rolling mill：changeable diameter of the roller, flexible speed, free adjust for the open roller limitation makes the mill suitable for both hot-rolled and cold-rolled, production of both thin and super thick plate, narrow and super width plates, as well as the metal processing, i.e. Aluminum foil, alloy and copper and copper alloy. The mill can be single and double reversible and multi-rack continuous rolling.

4. Advantage of realization ability
For the traditional mill, the wide cold-rolled mill（i.e.：1700m, 2000mm, 2250mm）and middle super thick mill（i.e.：3300mm, 4200mm, 5500mm mills used to produce ship and aircraft carrier board are the most widest mill in world），However, because of the complication of the control system and the huge system, its investment can be as much as ten billion, which would terrify investors. But XGK mill can save 20%of the investment compared to that of traditional mills when producing the same width mill. Also it could make a break through by producing strips wider than the existing 5500mm, 8000mm, 10000mm，to realize the dream of ship board, warship decks, aircraft decks without seam. Meanwhile, the investment is small, and could bear by investors. There is no distance for this realization.

5. Advantages of energy saving
This mill stress evenly on strips （i.e. roller）width，which rolls efficiently, so it can lower the motor power by a large margin（usually saving 30～50％，more prominent when wider）when rolling the same size of products compared to traditional mills. Meanwhile, because of “quasi-rigidity”, “minimum rolling width” limitation doesn’t exist ?.i.e. ：XGK-LD1100 mill with Φ120mm roller diameter could roll strips as wide as 1050mm, almost same length of work roller and thinner than 0.02mm. The mill has a large scope of product specifications.

6. Advantage of product quality
Since the mill has the characters of “quasi-rigidity”, “extensibility”, “thin ability”， broad or narrow strips, thick or thin strips, after some pass rolling the mill could make the rolled strip reach the absolutely high precision. （i.e.，XGK-LD1100 rolling thickness of 1.0-0.08mm, width of 900-1050mm strips，its lateral deviation was all ≤±0.001mm）. These deep processed products have large home and international market. Meanwhile, the mill could operate under normal temperature, and enhance the material performance.
