During one of his interviews, Mr. Chen said “Many people asked me the same question on why I decided to research and develop the negative ion sanitary napkin. It was actually because of my mother whom had died of uterus cancer in 2001. She made very little money as a peddler and had a laborious hard time supporting her children.”

“At that time, she had no choice but to sell blood from time to time to earn some pocket money to feed the family, ultimately ruining her already deterioting health. She was hospitalized for six years, suffering from various complicating diseases including uterus cancer. I respect my mother the most in this world, I had never cried in my life except on the day my mother passed away.”

“During one of the charitable activities which I had been actively participating since 1990, one of the staff of China Women's Federation highlighted to me of the miserable lives and plights of poor women, which instantaneously reminded me of my own mother, I felt devastated and heartbroken. I thought why not come up with something like an anti-inflammation product in honour of my mother? My mother has left me forever, but never mind, I will respect and treat every mother as my own mother; I will try to take good care of them with all my love.”

“Therefore, I engaged Beijing’s respectably well-known Tsinghua University to do research on negative ion sanitary napkin back in 2001. By 2004, the product was developed and international patents were applied. On April 2006, the international patents were finally officially approved, which leads to the incorporation of Winalite International in Jan 2007.”
